Devils Tower, Wyoming

First we stopped by Prairie Dog Town, where hundreds, if not thousands, of prairie dogs were popping up from their dens all over an open field, standing up and then running off to jump into another den hole. Delightful to watch. Especially the small pups, they were adorable.

We have been blessed with the best weather this week and today was a beautiful day for a hike around Devils Tower. It was humbling to stand in front of the humongous Devils Tower, a colossal monument that is purely nature-made, a true natural beauty. We walked two of the trails around the monument, each giving magnificent views of Devils Tower.
This is the first national monument, in 1906 President Theodore Roosevelt proclaimed Devils Tower to be the first national monument under the new Antiquities Act.
