ATVing in the Black Hills

We rented two ATVs from Mad Mountain Adventures on highway 385, when we arrived, Wayne was friendly and super helpful. He greeted us and got us familiar with the vehicles. He explained the trail system and gave us a map.
The Black Hills National Forest has the most amazing ATV trails. The trail system consists of some packed dirt flat trails, many rocky trails running up and down hills, to a few tracks running along the edge of the steep, rocky ridges. What a variety!

And we were off and running, we were having so much fun we did not stop to read the map for the next three hours. We took every trail we could find, we went as high as we could go and the views were beautiful! We drove down and then up on another trail. Wow, each trail was so different, some made for a smooth ride and others were a wild adventure every twist and bump of the way.  Riding on the rocky edge was thrilling. We had the time of our lives, so much fun!

We didn't want it to end but finally we looked at the map, took our last few trails in the direction to get back.

The Mad Mountain ATVs preformed superbly. This was a great experience, we will be back to ride again.
