British Columbia

We saw some spectacular views on the Alaskan Highway.  We spent both Sunday and Monday nights at highway rest stops.  We had no problem finding fuel stations that sell diesel or rest areas to boondock for a night. At Dawson Creek, BC we turned west on Highway 97 and took the West Access Route to Seattle. Having just left the land of Denali with Mt. McKinley prominently in the landscape, it was nice to see Mt Rainier welcoming us to the Seattle area. We are staying at Holiday Park FamCamp at Joint Base Lewis McChord, a beautiful RV park with tall, thick pine trees.

  1. Looks like you saw a few more bears! We saw very few critters in AK.
Between Dawson City and Whitehorse we saw a fair amount, fox, moose and a beautiful grizzly bear.

  2. We saw a lot of moose in Alaska but only a couple of bears. We saw a few bears in British Columbia but we spotted many bears in the Yukon. We found the Yukon to be the best place to see a variety of wildlife: buffalo, elk, moose, fox, and bears. You guys live in a beautiful wildlife wonderland.
