The Snake & Backbone Rock

Before we get to Nova Scotia, we have a few nice stops. We arrived in Tennessee today,
the forest covered hills are gorgeous. We are staying at the Baileyton RV Park for two nights.  It is a nice park with long
pull-thru sites, they have a swimming pool and a driving range for us golfers.

We are getting together with John's brother tomorrow. This afternoon we explored: we found 'The Snake' and backbone rock, two of Johnson County landmarks.  The Snake is a 33 mile road that is said to have 489 curves on 3 mountains. It is a favorite with motorcyclist, we loved driving it in the Jeep!

  1. Did you know that you passed right by our house? We love Backbone Rock. How did you all come into the valley? I love all 4 ways into our valley. Each one is so different and beautiful in every season. Just be careful on those very high mountain curves. <3

  2. No, but that's cool - such a beautiful area! What an amazing drive. We were just out exploring - we may have come in by way of Bristol, I know we toured that area too. John was saying the Snake road would be a perfect place to ride motorcycles, but I was just fine taking all those quick turns in the Jeep. We were going to walk on Backbone Rock, but it was too wet and rainy that day. Maybe next time.
